Open Source development

We often consider taking an Open Source project and creating a service around it but there are so many exciting projects out there that it would be impossible to chose.

We think one of our strengths is that we've got a good feel for what's out there, what is under developed and what is ready for commercial use.

As we become aware of Open Source projects, usually in the early stages, we monitor the progress, look at the people involved and keep an eye on the community and development.

If we believe the projects are interesting, we'll create a site or application around it so we can get a good feel for it. We have many sites and applications on test that use technology such as Nutch, Drupal and Elgg.

We are happy to talk to clients about developing almost any Open Source project for their needs. It can be daunting to use Open Source technology but with a company such as ours that has the experience of developing these platforms we feel they can be extremely useful in getting projects off the ground quickly without spending huge amounts of money.

We are members of the Drupal Association and contribute financially to the Drupal project.
